The Fall of a Great Nation?

Many people refer to America as a democracy, perhaps the greatest democracy on earth. This is really not correct, as America is not an absolute democracy. America is really a constitutional republic.

An absolute democracy is a political system in which the majority enjoy absolute power through the use of democratic elections. Without the restraint of a constitution, the majority can vote to impose whatever they wish with minority opposition. In other words, the majority can vote to elect those who can deny the minority their God-given rights. Our founding fathers recognized the danger of this and chose the constitutional republic alternative. Thomas Jefferson referred to absolute democracy as elected despotism. The founding fathers did not fight for any absolute democracy government. They fought for a constitutional republic.

America a Democracy?

Constitutional Covention

A constitutional republic, in contrast, is a political system in which the head of state and other officials are elected by the people as representatives of the people. A reference system, or constitution, is written that establishes the absolutes against which decisions are made. Three branches of government are set up: executive, legislative, and judicial. These, in turn, work together to hold all three accountable to the constitution. The constitution, it turn, is written referencing some type of absolute standard. In America this was the Bible. It doesn’t mean all the founding fathers were Christians, it simply means the constitution was written to use the Bible as the reference standard. In Egypt, their constitution at the current time was written using the Sha’aria as a reference.

The founding fathers wisely used the constitutionally divided powers of the government to limit elected officials from imposing their tyranny on the people.

Unfortunately, today the elected officials have successfully manipulated those that elected them to create enough dependency for them to hold on-going power through democratically held elections. We have reached a point where almost every American is slave to the government.

We are currently living through the paramount form of elected despotism that our founders so presciently sought to forestall. At some point during the progressive era of the early 1900?s, elected officials began to deviate from the constitution in a dramatic fashion. At present, we find all of our founding principles under assault. Many prominent political leaders in both parties seek to destroy our free markets, infringe upon our personal liberties, and abrogate our social values. Unfortunately, they have accrued a high level of success. Moreover, they have prosecuted this revolution without firing a shot. Instead, they have used the soft edge of the sword of elected despotism.
Daniel Horowitz

In addition, many political leaders who say they are abiding by the Constitution and misinterpreting the Tenth Amendment to promote tyranny on a state level as well as the Federal level. This is particularly true of the blue states.

Pure democracy cannot subsist long nor be carried far into the departments of state. – it is subject to caprice and the madness of popular rage.
John Witherspoon

Article 4 section 4 of our Constitution guarantees each state a Republican form of government.

It is incumbent upon each of us to restore our Constitution as the supreme law of the land and that our God-give rights in the Constitution, including the Bill of Rights, and not revoked. This involves particularly some courageous stands on the part of the churches , economic systems, and our education institutions particularly. In my church we spend a LOT of time teaching both kids and adults what you read here and what our founding fathers really did.

Toynbee, the famous historian, pointed out that 19 out of 21 civilization have died from within. They died not by conquests from without, but from within. He tells us that there were no bands playing or flags waving when these civilizations decayed. It happened slowly in the quiet and the dark when no one was aware of what was happening. In America this could happen within your generation.

What is God asking you to do about this?

Tribute to Ronald Reagan

This is a short video ( ~5 minutes) that we all should watch, appreciate

and fully understand its meaning. It is also one that everyone in

our government should be encouraged to watch

several times, at least until they get it!!!

If you are one of those that do not forward e-mails, please make

this an exception and pass this along .

Ronald Reagan’s church put this together to commemorate the birthday of Ronald Reagan. Unfortunately the war against the evil of liberalism is still alive and well, and we fight it even at Bel Air Presbyterian. The liberal Presbyterians are doing all they can to pervert the church from the inside out. Fortunately the conservative Christians are strong at Bel Air. Ronald Reagan loved Bel Air Presbyterian as I do…Enjoy!

A Sad Election for America

Many people are wounded by the corruption involved in the last election in America – on both sides. Obama’s top donor was the $1,092,906 pledged by the University of California-affiliated supporters. Romney’s top donors pledged $994,139 from Goldman Sachs-affiliated supporters. Neither candidate supports any Wall Street reform. (TIME 11/19/2012)

At the local level, my friend Toni who did a lot of door-to-door work says:
I’m not at ALL surprised. Just walking Tualatin, I found many houses/addresses that did not exist, ON THE VOTER REGISTRATION LIST. 10 people all with different last names in a one bedroom apt. Many on list at apts. with no apt. #!! What’s up with the Secretary of State not doing her job??

And on the International level: “America’s election process an international embarrassment”

The mailing of military ballots is done at the state level, but even this was riff with major problems. From Forbes:
http://www.forbes.com/sites/rickungar/2012/09/26/obama-accused-of-suppressing-military-vote-by-withholding-absentee-ballots/#
Of course, there is little news of this from the liberal media. In all fairness here, Oregon’s Secretary of State is very protective of the military’s right to vote (http://www.oregonsosblog.us/2012/08/oregon-recognized-by-national-military-voter-protection-project-as-all-star-state/).

Of course, corporations and businesses (as well as individuals) hves little faith in Washington and Federal Government any more. A massive wave of business closings has swept the nation and the DOW dropped over 300 points the first day and has continued to drop. You can track this at:

Also, the DOW dropped over 300 points after the election and continues to drop.

The Last Man Standing program before the election had a well-endowed young girl running around in an Obama T-Shirt, promoting the guy, while making a buffoon of the other candidate. (I’m still trying to get the advertiser list for that program.) That is illegal, ABC. Where is the Justice Department in this? Oh, I forgot – the Attorney General also isn’t clean with his conflict of interest. Neither is the Surgeon General for promoting Mr. O. That’s illegal.

It is time for the Church to wake up. Pray. Act.

Politicians, Elections, and Values

Below is Reverend Franklin Graham’s column in its entirety.
Can An Evangelical Christian Vote for a Mormon?

by Franklin Graham

This question has stirred much debate. Historically, Christians have voted for candidates of different faiths, including Mormons, based on how they live their lives and how deeply committed they are to upholding the U.S. Constitution. Remember, God ordained government, and we are not electing a pastor-in-chief, we are electing a commander-in-chief.

George Washington was Episcopalian, Abraham Lincoln had no religious affiliation while he was president, John Kennedy was Catholic and Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton were outspoken Southern Baptists. Over a period of 223 years, our nation’s cities and states have been governed by people of many different faiths, including Mormons from both the Democratic and Republican parties.

Orrin Hatch, a Mormon, has served this nation as an effective senator and George Romney, Gov. Mitt Romney’s father, was one of the great governors of Michigan. His religion never interfered with governing, but his personal faith did define his strong marriage, family values and personal integrity. I believe this is the same for Gov. Mitt Romney. While there are major differences in the theology of evangelical Christians and that of Mormons, as well as those who practice the Catholic faith or the Jewish faith, we do share common values that are biblically based.

Americans must remember that while our nation was founded upon godly principles, we do not have a state religion. Rather, our Constitution provides for the freedom to worship without interference of government. Our forefathers shed their blood to win this right. We must be committed to electing a commander-in-chief who will protect this liberty and uphold the Constitution as one nation under God, and who will ensure God’s moral law will not be violated by changing the law of the land.

We are at a profound crossroads. Our secularized society has shaken its fist in God’s face and rejected His very name. Like Joseph and Daniel, we must not compromise when government clashes with the worship of God. We must not silence our voices to God’s law. We must use our influence to elect those who will govern with respect for the sanctity of marriage as between one man and one woman; the sanctity of life; and yes, the protection of God’s beloved nation Israel.

We must not cast votes for officials — whether candidates of the Democratic, Republican, or Tea Party, or of a religious persuasion — that are against these principles of God. We have, in the past, elected Christians who have defied some of these very principles.

We need something like what Jerry Falwell did in the 1980s. We need a “moral majority” — made up of Christians, Jews, Mormons, Catholics and many others of faith — to come together to take a stand for our religious freedoms and rights.

In recent days, President Clinton said that President Obama “has a plan to rebuild America from the ground up.” But God-fearing Americans have no desire to see America rebuilt — but rather restored. To “rebuild it” would be to create a new nation without God or perhaps under many gods. This was never the intent of those who shed their blood for the freedom to worship as “one nation under God.”

I pray that all Christians and God-fearing Americans will put aside labels and vote for principles — God’s principles — that for many years have resulted in His blessing upon our nation.

So, can a Christian vote for a Mormon? The answer is yes.

Bishops Issue Call To Defend Life And Liberty

Billy and Franklin Graham are not alone in their unprecedented involvement in this election. America’s Catholic bishops are rallying the faithful to defend their values from an unprecedented government assault against the Catholic Church and other religious institutions.

Several bishops have issued strongly-worded letters to their parishes. Yesterday the Catholic bishops of Pennsylvania released this letter warning “Religious liberty itself — ‘our first, most cherished freedom’ — is no longer secure.”

Paul Lovedre, Bishop of Arlington, and Francis DiLorenzo, Bishop of Richmond, issued this letter<http://www.thecatholicpost.com/post/PostArticle.aspx?ID=2656 to read Bishop Jenky’s urgent message to Catholic voters.

COUNTDOWN TO VICTORY: 4 DAYS TO THE 2012 ELECTIONS — 58 DAYS TO TAXMAGEDDON

Obama Leaves Sandy Victims Behind

Barack Obama has had his two days of photo ops and effusive praise from the governor of New Jersey. He hugged a lot of people and announced that all the usual red tape and bureaucracy would be suspended so that people and communities impacted by Sandy could be helped. In other words, he adopted the GOP platform of sweeping away big government. Why not make these new rules permanent, Mr. President?

After all his showboating, Obama left the disaster scene and the victims behind and returned to the campaign trail. Meanwhile, the news from New York is terrible. Reports do not show a disaster response that is up to the task.

Major hospitals and gas stations are without power. Families are “dumpster diving” for food. Temperatures are falling into the 30s at night. There are thousands of people who are stuck in high rise apartments. These folks seem invisible to the liberal media.

The Wall Street Journal reports that FEMA officials reassured us before Sandy hit that they had 400 industrial-sized generators ready to go. Three days later, perhaps only 70 are in use.

Ideology Over Results

The response to this storm shows the failures of the big government ideology. Perhaps the most important thing these folks need are workers and crews who can get power, heat and gas restored. Unbelievably, New Jersey refused to allow power crews from Alabama to help because they were non-union workers.

Forget about getting the job done. Even in the midst of a disaster, left-wing ideology (union solidarity) comes first!

That pretty well sums up the Obama Administration. In the midst of an economic disaster, he bailed out the auto unions, funded green energy boondoggles, and then spent the rest of his time trying to socialize our health care system. The left got what it wanted, while the taxpayers got stuck with the bill.

One of the biggest complaints we have heard since Sandy hit is the desperate need for improved infrastructure. Remember Obama’s $800 stimulus bill? Wasn’t that supposed to go to “shovel-ready” infrastructure projects? As it turns out, “shovel-ready” wasn’t quite so “shovel-ready.” I wonder what a few extra billion dollars of storm surge infrastructure could have done for New Jersey and New York.

To top it all off, Mayor Michael Bloomberg endorsed Barack Obama yesterday citing Hurricane Sandy as an example of the imminent threat we face from climate change. And what is the left’s solution for climate change? The same solution to every problem — higher taxes and bigger government.

Sandy was a powerful storm. But, as a reminder, this was only a Category 1 storm. It was not the only major storm to ever hit New York. Add Mayor Bloomberg to the list of liberals who don’t know history.

Dr. Roger Pielke had an outstanding column yesterday putting Sandy in perspective. Three hurricanes — each twice as powerful as Sandy — hit the East Coast from August 1954 to August 1955. Remember how Al Gore and others told us after Katrina that such mega-storms would become the norm as a result of climate change? Here are the facts: No Category 3 hurricane has hit the mainland U.S. in seven years. Such a “hurricane drought” hasn’t happened in more than one hundred years! So much for climate change’s “new normal.”

Hurricane Obama

One of the ways we measure the impact of a storm is the economic damage it causes to property and the cost to clean up afterwards. By some estimates, Sandy may have caused $50 billion in damage. That’s a lot of money. But consider the economic damage of “Hurricane Obama.” His annual $1 trillion-plus deficits are the equivalent of 20 Hurricane Sandy’s hitting us each year!

Speaking of Obama’s economic damage, the unemployment rate went up today to 7.9%. For the record, the unemployment rate is higher today after four years of Barack Obama than it was when he took office in January 2009 (7.8%).

Adopt A Voter

The polls heading into the final weekend before this historic election show the candidates virtually deadlocked. Hurricane Sandy appears to have blunted Mitt Romney’s momentum. If that holds, we could have a very, very long night Tuesday, November 6th.

On Fox News yesterday former Secretary of State James Baker, who led George W. Bush’s Florida recount team in 2000, warned that several states require recounts in close elections. If the results on Election Day mirror the polls, there could well be recounts not in one state, but multiple states. Imagine what happened in Florida 12 years ago happening in Ohio, in Iowa, in Wisconsin, in Nevada, in Colorado, in Pennsylvania, in New Hampshire, etc. The resulting tension, law suits, apathy and cynicism would be terrible for our republic.

The best way to avoid that nightmare scenario is for every conservative and every man and woman of faith to vote so that the Romney/Ryan ticket wins a landslide victory on November 6th!

Please make every effort in these last few days to reach out to friends and family members, neighbors, fellow worshippers, business associates, etc. Don’t waste your time with die-hard liberals. Focus on those who haven’t made up their minds or who may be soft in their support for Obama. Find just one more potential Republican voter and bring him or her our way.

Contact your local Republican Party headquarters and ask how you can help. Volunteer for conservative candidates this weekend. Make that extra phone call. Knock on that extra door.

The campaigns have spent their war chests. They have run their ads. They are holding their last rallies.

The future of our country and our values are at stake. That future now rests in your hands.

A Chilling Letter from Lou Pritchett, a living legend in Corporate America

(This is a chilling letter to read. Snopes affirmed this as an authentic letter sent by Lou to President Obama. Check it out on Snopes and other similar sites if you wish. Also, you can circulate it. It is not copyrighted.)

We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress & the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution, but overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution.”
Abraham Lincoln

Chilling Letter from Proctor & Gamble VP to Obama
Who would have thought, and yet many are thinking it.

A LETTER FROM A PROCTER AND GAMBLE EXECUTIVE TO THE PRESIDENT* THE LAST SENTENCE IS THE MOST CHILLING
Lou Pritchett is one of corporate America’s true living legends- an
Acclaimed author, dynamic teacher and one of the world’s highest
Rated speakers. Successful corporate executives everywhere recognize
Him as the foremost leader in change management.. Lou changed the way
America does business by creating an audacious concept that came to
Be known as “partnering.”

AN OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT OBAMA

Dear President Obama:

You are the thirteenth President under whom I have lived and unlike
Any of the others, you truly scare me.

You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you.

You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive
Ivy League education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no
Visible signs of support.

You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth
Growing up in America and culturally you are not an American.

You scare me because you have never run a company or met a payroll.

You scare me because you have never had military experience, thus
Don’t understand it at its core.

You scare me because you lack humility and ‘class’, always blaming others.

You scare me because for over half your life you have aligned
Yourself with radical extremists who hate America and you refuse to
Publicly denounce these radicals who wish to see America fail..

You scare me because you are a cheerleader for the ‘blame America ‘
Crowd and deliver this message abroad.

You scare me because you want to change America to a European style
Country where the government sector dominates instead of the private sector.

You scare me because you want to replace our health care system
With a government controlled one.

You scare me because you prefer ‘wind mills’ to responsibly
Capitalizing on our own vast oil, coal and shale reserves.

You scare me because you want to kill the American capitalist goose
That lays the golden egg which provides the highest standard of
Living in the world.

You scare me because you have begun to use ‘extortion’ tactics
Against certain banks and corporations.

You scare me because your own political party shrinks from
Challenging you on your wild and irresponsible spending proposals.

You scare me because you will not openly listen to or even consider
Opposing points of view from intelligent people.

You scare me because you falsely believe that you are both
Omnipotent and omniscient.

You scare me because the media gives you a free pass on everything
You do.

You scare me because you demonize and want to silence the
Limbaugh’s, Hannitys, O’Reillys and Becks who offer opposing,
Conservative points of view.

You scare me because you prefer controlling over governing.

Finally, you scare me because if you serve a second term, I will
Probably not feel safe in writing a similar letter in 8 years.

Lou Pritchett

How to balance the Federal budget

Why not get serious this election and follow Warren Buffett’s advice:

Warren Buffett, in a recent interview with CNBC, offers one of the best quotes about the debt ceiling …
“I could end the deficit in 5 minutes,” he told CNBC. “You just pass a law that says that any time there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election.”

The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only 3 months and 8 days to be ratified! Why?
Simple! The people demanded it.
That was in 1971 – before computers, e-mail, cell phones, etc.
Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took one (1) year or less to become the law of the land all because of public pressure.

Warren Buffet is asking each addressee to forward this email to a minimum of twenty people on their address list; in turn ask each of those to do likewise.

In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message.
This is one idea that really should be passed around.
Congressional Reform Act of 2012

1. No Tenure/No Pension
A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they’re out of office.

2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security.
All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.

3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.

4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise.
Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.

7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void effective 12/1/12.

The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women.

Congress made all these contracts for themselves.

Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career.

The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.
