Here is an interesting exercise. Suppose we amended the constitution so that the politicians were elected directly using the internet?
One organization is posting this on the Internet and an interesting experience in this election. The first part of the web site is already up and you can surf in and try it yourself. The link is:

You can “register” here and become a delegate. You can then start the process by working through an extensive battery of multi-choice questions on many, many political issues. As you answer each question, a map flashes up and you can see how your “vote” matches those of the U.S. and those in your state. Some 1.7 million have already taken the test, so there is a good sample base already in place. They expect the count to go to at least 3 million participants.
In the next phase the web site will be taking the “delegates” into debates and eventually lead to an online “election” later next year. Lots of fun. The results on some issues will shock you.
